The Malaysia Trucking Federation (MTF) and Johor Trucking Association (JTA) recently held discussions with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) in Putrajaya to gain insights into the Subsidised Diesel Control System 2.0 (SKDS 2.0) for land transport.
MTF and JTA Address Concerns with KPDN Over Subsidised Diesel Control System 2.0
Since its pilot phase began on 1st February, SKDS 2.0 faced initial challenges. It was launched to combat the problems of misappropriation and smuggling of subsidised diesel, involving five petroleum companies (Petronas, Shell, Caltex, BHP and Petron) and nine vehicle categories, including general cargo lorries, bottled drinks lorries, refrigerated lorries, luton lorries, prime movers, flour tankers, water tankers and panelled window vans.
Following the meeting, MTF and JTA successfully addressed their concerns and clarified misunderstandings. KPDN affirmed that no announcement was made regarding quotas for the nine vehicle categories in SKDS 2.0.
