Bridgestone Corporation has announced its decision to withdraw from the competitive commercial vehicle tyre market in China.

Bridgestone Closes Shenyang Tyre Plant

Its subsidiary, Bridgestone (China) Investment, will halt sales of truck and bus tyres in the first half of this year. As part of the departure, Bridgestone has completed the previous announcement of the closure of its Shenyang truck and bus radial (TBR) tyre plant in January.

This strategic decision, according to Bridgestone, is in line with its next three-year plan, the Mid-Term Business Plan (2024-2026), which focuses on strengthening earning capacity to navigate challenging market conditions. Looking ahead, the company disclosed that it will redirect strategic resources to the premium tire market for passenger vehicles, where growth is expected, leveraging Bridgestone’s strengths to enhance earning potential.
