In an exclusive interview with Truck & Bus News, Joyce shared insights on the challenges and strategies shaping this transition by highlighting Scania’s commitment to reduce emissions and lead the way in green mobility solutions amidst operational and infrastructural hurdles.
“This is an exciting time to enter the Malaysian market, particularly during the transition from Euro 3 to Euro 5 standards, the shift from paper-based processes to digitalisation and the increasing focus on emissions standards and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) certification,” she said. “Scania’s goal is to support customers with more sustainable products to help them achieve their ESG objectives. Unlike Singapore, where the government provides incentives and the entire industry collaborates to drive the shift, Malaysia remains heavily reliant on diesel. Scania aims to support Malaysia in achieving its ESG goals and assist customers on this journey. However, it is crucial for the authorities to take the right steps to facilitate this transition…….”
