FAW Trucks Marks Indonesian Manufacturing Milestone

FAW Trucks has completed assembly of its first locally produced vehicle at its knockdown (KD) plant in Indonesia, with an LN 4×4 truck rolling off the production line. The company described this moment as a significant milestone in its localised manufacturing strategy.

The Indonesian KD plan has been attuned to FAW Trucks‘ global unified manufacturing standards. Its production process encompasses parts import, vehicle assembly, quality control, and delivery, all of which are developed in close collaboration with local partners to ensure product quality consistent with the company’s global standards.

The LN 4×4 has been specifically tailored for Indonesia’s complex road conditions and high-intensity working environments. The model is already in operation at local mining sites, where the company said it has demonstrated stable performance under prolonged, high-load conditions. FAW Trucks also noted that the truck’s spacious cab and humanised interior design have earned it an informal nickname among local customers: “mobile luxury reception halls in mining areas”.

“[It] fully demonstrates the comprehensive advantages of FAW Trucks’ products in terms of functionality and comfort, and has won wide recognition in the market,” the company said.

The launch of the first LN 4×4 in Indonesia marked the latest step in FAW Trucks‘ two-decade presence in the archipelago. The manufacturer described itself as the Chinese brand with the most complete vehicle licence certification in the Indonesian market.

FAW Trucks‘ on-road vehicle sales have been ranked at the forefront of the industry for many years, and its products cover the whole range of segments such as tractors, rigid trucks and dumpers, thus constructing a full-series product matrix that is the most complete in the local market with the widest range of products and application scenarios,” it stated.

Going forward, the company said it would continue to strengthen its local manufacturing, supply chain, and after-sales capabilities in Indonesia, where sales doubled year-on-year between 2023 and 2025, as well as all across Southeast Asia.
