Volvo Presents Driverless Electric Bus
Volvo Buses and Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University (NTU) unveiled a full-size autonomous electric bus that would soon be tested in the city state this year.

The 12-metre bus has a capacity of 80 passengers. Unlike regular buses, this electric vehicle produces zero emission and uses 80 per cent less energy than a diesel bus of an equivalent size.
Volvo Buses President Håkan Agnevall said: “The vehicle is an important step towards our vision for a cleaner, safer and smarter city.”
High-tech Singapore has become a testbed for self-driving technology and the world’s first driverless taxis went into operation in a limited public trial in the country in 2016.
