Safety Tech Showcases Its Camera Monitoring Systems at SITCE Singapore

Safety Tech SITCE Singapore

Safety Tech will be showcasing its Camera Monitoring System at SITCE Singapore from 2nd to 4th November in Hall 404, booth F55.

Smart Vision Camera Monitoring Systems for a Safer Driving Experience

Following the success of its Camera Monitoring System (CMS) Smart-Vision in Europe, Safety Tech, a Gauzy company, is proud to present its innovative mirrorless solution to the bus and coach operators and OEMs at SITCE Singapore. The CMS is already chosen by over 40 operators and by many bus, coach, and truck OEMs, including Irizar e-mobility, Hess, Van Hool and MAN.

Smart-Vision is a compact system that replaces rearview mirrors with high-definition cameras and interior displays to offer optimised visibility and enhanced ergonomics. Compared with standard rearview mirrors, the CMS covers a larger field of vision, the interior displays eliminate glare, and the automatic adjustment of the screens’ brightness ensures excellent visibility in all lighting conditions (for example, entrance and exit of tunnels, low light, bad weather).

According to the company, Smart-Vision provides a high-quality image, night and day, and guarantees a stable image in any driving environment (no vibration). In addition to eliminating lateral blind spots, the solution offers functions such as parking and maneuvering aid or guidance assistance allowing a shorter turning radius.  It offers greater driving comfort, reduced fatigue and enhanced safety, but also allows a quick return on investment.

Indeed, the system significantly cuts down fuel consumption thanks to the removal of the mirrors, which lowers wind resistance for improved aerodynamics. Smart-Vision improves maneuverability and minimises the risk of collision between the mirror and tree branches or road signs, which lowers maintenance costs linked to potential damages, while enhancing the vehicle’s availability.

Safety Tech will also showcase one of its newest ADAS solution, BSIS+, which mitigates blind spots.

Blind spots are a major cause of accidents involving buses and coaches. The UN regulation R151 on Blind Spot Information Systems (BSIS) requires the system to inform the driver of the presence of a nearby cyclist who could be endangered when turning away from the driver, so that the driver can stop the bus before crossing their path.

Safety Tech has developed an innovative system that goes beyond the R151 standard, to ensure maximum safety for drivers and road users. BSIS+ offers a wider detection area starting from the vehicle body, allows the detection of all vulnerable road users (bicycles, pedestrians, scooters, and many more), is available for both sides of the vehicle, and can be integrated in the Smart-Vision solution without any additional display.

Based in France near Lyon, France, Safety Tech is one of the world leaders in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The company designs, develops and markets complete and customized solutions on the coach, bus, truck and motorhome markets. A pioneer in ADAS, Safety Tech also benefits from a European leadership position in its historical markets, rear view mirrors and driver protection doors.

Safety Tech combines its complementary skills in mechanics, embedded electronics and image analysis, to offer ever more innovative solutions and meet the needs of its customers in terms of cost, comfort and safety.

Safety Tech is a division of Gauzy, a world leader in material science and nanotechnology, focused on the research, development, manufacturing, and marketing of light and vision control technologies as a Tier 1 or Tier 2 across the automotive industry. The company has a global presence with 14 offices, 4 production facilities, and partners and customers worldwide.
