Excellent Logistics Award for ThaiSomdej Service and Krungdhep Document

Chantira Jimreivat Vivatrat, Director General of the DITP, said the award presentation ceremony of Excellent Logistics Management Award 2018 (ELMA 2018) was organised on 29th August at TILOG-LOGISTIX 2018. There were 2 award-winning companies this year; ThaiSomdej Service in Customs Brokerage Service and Krungdhep Document in Warehousing Services.

“This is the 12th consecutive year that ELMA was held to select Thai Logistics Service Providers with outstanding logistics management and services. In addition, ELMA could be set as an indicator to benchmark excellent operational performance among logistics companies and which could serve as a reliable reference for local and overseas business counterparts. Before announcing each award winner, all the candidates’ performance was thoroughly assessed based on the comprehensive judging criteria by the qualified assessment committee.

“We believe that ELMA is also one of the measurements that encourage Logistics Service Providers to develop their logistics management to be more effective. Moreover, ELMA candidates would be able to apply feedback and recommendations from a group of committee to improve their competitive advantage in the future.

In accordance with DITP’s strategic goals, we also focus on encouraging Thai entrepreneurs to continuously improve their logistics management capabilities to be accepted internationally,” said Chantira.

Visarn Chansate, Managing Director of ThaiSomdej Service with 48 years of experience as Customs Brokerage Service Provider, stated that “ThaiSomdej Service has been participating as an ELMA contestant since 2015. For the past three years, we have received valuable advice from each year’s assessment committee and learned about our strengths and weaknesses to help us improve and eventually win ELMA 2018 in Customs Brokerage Services.

“By applying Intelligent Customs Clearance Technology (ICCT), the system that was developed in-house, we managed to resolve complicated customs documentation problems and reduce cost for both our company and customers, especially our E-Commerce customers who have many products that require complicated Customs documents.

“In addition, our company also developed Artificial Intelligence (AI) to increase operational efficiency. ThaiSomdej Service is also the first company that has designed a system that requires no data entry by humans. Instead our technology allows us to connect our system directly with our customers’ systems, which could then provide direct access to our customers’ data resulting in rapid responses to our customer needs.”

Suparp Tungtriratanakul, Director and Managing Director of Krungdhep Document, a professional service provider for Document and Information Storage and Management, said: “This is the first year that Krungdhep Document applied for ELMA and we were selected to be an ELMA 2018 winner in Warehousing Services. We learned from constructive feedback and valuable recommendation throughout the assessment process.

“Hence, we could improve our warehouse efficiency and reduce costs. I think these are the main reasons why we won this year’s award. Also, with the majority of our customers being in the financial sector we highly value the importance of keeping our customers’ data and documents safe and secure.

“We also emphasise on customised services that help satisfy customers’ needs and solve their problems effectively. Moreover, we have also added Livelink Enterprise System, Document and Electronic File Hosting service, and Solution Design Services to be able to respond to the needs of both existing and new customers.”

The ELMA 2018 is categorised into 4 sections; Transportation Services; Warehousing Services; International Freight Forwarding or Customs Brokerage Services and Third Party Logistics Services. The committee agreed to grant the awards to 2 categories.
