For the first time, AMH expands beyond hauliers by welcoming Asian Trucker Media and Steelbro as inaugural Associate Members.
Associate Membership at AMH Is Limited to 20 Companies
The Association of Malaysian Hauliers (AMH) has announced the introduction of its first-ever Associate Members during the AMH Council Meeting for August.
For the first time since its establishment, AMH has extended membership beyond haulier operators holding a Permit KA. The inaugural Associate Members are Asian Trucker Media Sdn. Bhd. and Steelbro (M) Sdn. Bhd., both with established links to the logistics and transport sector in Malaysia.
Previously, AMH membership was restricted only to hauliers. With the endorsement of the Executive Committee and Council Members, the new Associate Membership category was introduced to open participation to haulier-related service providers, including businesses such as vehicle and trailer manufacturers, tyre suppliers, maintenance and service operators, and system providers that support the industry.
According to AMH‘s official Facebook post, Associate Members have access to AMH updates, industry engagements, events, and opportunities to participate in discussions and forums relevant to the haulage ecosystem. They are also recognised as part of the association’s professional network.
However, even though Associate Members are entitled to participate in numerous activities, they do not have voting rights in AMH elections and are not eligible to serve on the Executive Committee or Council. Membership is capped at 20 companies, with each application subject to evaluation and approval by the Council.
The introduction of this new category reflects AMH‘s recognition of the broader network of service providers that contribute to Malaysia’s haulage industry. “Haulier-related businesses interested in joining as Associate Members may contact the AMH Secretariat Office for application and evaluation,” the association wrote.
