Operation Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026 Runs from March 16 to 29
Malaysia’s Road Transport Department (JPJ) has launched Operation Hari Raya Aidilfitri (Eid Al-Fitr) 2026, running from March 16 to 29, 2026.
The operation was announced during a press conference at Section 17 Bus Terminal, Shah Alam, on March 13, by JPJ Director General Dato’ Aedy Fadly bin Ramly, accompanied by Deputy Director General of Planning & Operations Datuk Jazmanie bin Shafawi, Senior Director of Enforcement Dato’ Muhammad Kifli bin Ma Hassan, Automotive Engineering Division Director Ir. Mohd Yusop bin Mohamad, Corporate and Strategic Planning Division Director Azhar bin Manap, Selangor State JPJ Director Azrin bin Borhan, and senior officers.
As part of the operation, JPJ will enforce a heavy vehicle restriction on highways and main roads throughout the country on four days: March 19 and 20, covering the period before Hari Raya, and March 28 and 29, covering the period after the celebration. The agency announced the restriction categories on March 15.
Dato’ Aedy Fadly said the operation would also focus on nine major traffic offences identified as primary contributors to road accidents: speeding, failing to comply with red traffic light signals, overtaking on double lines, driving on the emergency lane, queue-cutting, using a mobile phone while driving, not wearing a seatbelt or helmet, driving heavy vehicles in the fast lane, and overloading.
JPJ urged all road users to drive carefully and obey all traffic rules, especially during the festive period.
