JPJ’s Hari Raya Campaign Targets Bus Drivers and Passengers

Road Safety Division of Malaysia’s Road Transport Department (JPJ) has launched an advocacy programme called “Return to Village Safely Campaign” ahead of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri (Eid Al-Fitr) 2026, with the first implementation conducted at the Southern Integrated Terminal (TBS), Kuala Lumpur, on March 15, 2026.

The programme focuses on the travel safety aspects of public transport, especially the express buses, which the JPJ said are the top choice of people for returning to their hometowns. The targets of this campaign are not only the drivers, but also the passengers.

JPJ officers passed on advice and explanation to bus drivers regarding driving practices, adherence to speed limits, and the importance of keeping their physical and mental conditions at their best before driving. Meanwhile, the passengers were reminded to always keep their seatbelts on.

“Wearing a seatbelt is an important step that can reduce the risk of injury in the event of unforeseen events,” the agency said.

The “Return to Village Safely Campaign” is part of the JPJ‘s ongoing efforts in strengthening road safety among road users, particularly during the festive season, which usually sees an increase in the number of traffic on the roads.
