UD Trucks has delivered five New Kuzer light-duty trucks to Gerimis Baiduri to support frozen and chilled logistics operations.
New Kuzer Offers Bigger Payload and Improved Uptime
UD Trucks has delivered five units of its New Kuzer light-duty trucks to Gerimis Baiduri Sdn Bhd, a logistics provider specialising in frozen and chilled transportation.
The trucks were supplied through LK Utara Sdn Bhd, a dealer of Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd (TCIE), the authorised and sole distributor for UD Trucks in Malaysia. The new vehicles will be utilised to enhance the productivity of Gerimis Baiduri‘s daily transportation activities.
“Since our establishment 25 years ago, Gerimis Baiduri has grown to become one of Malaysia’s important logistics providers specialising in frozen and refrigerated trucks, offering customised solutions to all our clients,” said Dato Liew Tiam Seng, Managing Director of Gerimis Baiduri.
“We emphasised developing our people, instilling passion in them, and creating progress together to deliver exceptional transportation services, with a focus on environmental sustainability and exceeding customer expectations,” he added.
The handover ceremony was held at Gerimis Baiduri‘s headquarters in Puchong, Selangor. The event was attended by Dato Liew Tiam Seng, Managing Director of Gerimis Baiduri; Loh Thim Choy, Chief Operating Officer of TCIE; and Chong Boon Fuei, Managing Director of LK Utara.
UD Trucks launched the New Kuzer several months ago in Malaysia. The truck was developed to offer greater productivity for logistics operators via six key enhancements covering payload, performance, chassis, emissions, durability, and safety. The model is powered by a 5.2-litre Euro 4 engine with an advanced fuel injection system and a six-speed overdrive gearbox.
“We decided to expand our UD fleet with New Kuzer for its high payload, engine performance with cleaner emissions, and overall proven reliability. Furthermore, the good after-sales support and consultation we have been receiving from LK Utara and TCIE throughout the years have made our decision to stay with them an easy one,” said Dato Liew again.

Gerimis Baiduri has been a customer of UD Trucks since 2008 and now owns more than 100 units of its medium- and light-duty commercial vehicles. “We trust this is a good investment and we look forward to the New Kuzer to deliver better fuel savings and increase the productivity of our logistics operations through greater uptime,” added Dato Liew.
Available in Two Variants
The New Kuzer is available in 7.5-tonne and 8.5-tonne gross vehicle weight (GVW) variants, with the 7.5-tonne version offering a payload of 4,880 kg, more than 600 kg higher than its predecessor. The higher payload allows operators to maximise deliveries and improve productivity while lowering operational costs over time.
Loh Thim Choy, Chief Operating Officer of TCIE, said, “New Kuzer was developed as part of UD Trucks’ commitment towards smart logistics and in meeting the growing need for reliable trucks. It is an efficient model, especially for urban deliveries, helping our customers be nimble players in their fields. The advanced safety features and engine emission standards contribute to better durability, performance, and a cleaner environment, all of which Gerimis Baiduri and other customers will surely stand to gain from.”
The safety features of the New Kuzer include SRS airbags, anti-slip regulator (ASR), anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), cab tilt warning, and reverse alarm. The cab is certified to United Nations ECE R29 standards, while the LED headlamps enhance driver visibility.
“We are honoured to continue to bring value to Gerimis Baiduri, who will be able to achieve greater impact from every delivery with New Kuzer. Our team is always ready to extend full support through the UD Extra Mile Services package, which includes benefits such as genuine parts, fixed-price maintenance plans with priority scheduling, 24/7 Res-Q roadside assistance and quality service for sustained uptime,” Loh added.
Customers purchasing the UD Trucks New Kuzer are covered by a five-year or 300,000-km warranty, whichever comes first.
