UD Trucks and sole distributor partner Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd (TCIE) recently ushered in the lunar new year by hosting an open house for all the regions in Peninsular Malaysia, namely Johor Bahru, Butterworth and Ipoh, to celebrate the festivities with customers and partners. The events were held in the second week of Chinese New Year at TCIE’s dealership in the respective towns to serve as a platform to thank customers for their support, build rapport and further reach out to them by delivering deeper brand promise with continuous aftermarket commitment.
Guests were treated to various festive activities such as Chinese New Year lucky dip with lucrative prizes, lion dance performances to usher in prosperity and various goodies and refreshments throughout the day.
A roadshow to showcase UD Trucks’ latest model range comprising the heavy-duty Quester and medium-duty Croner was also incorporated as part of the event for prospective and existing customers to learn more about the features of each model and how they were developed to go the extra mile for customers’ productivity.
The all-new UD Quester and Croner are specifically made for growth markets like Malaysia, with versatility and uptime in mind. They are said to be designed for reliability and built with robust and quality components to deliver extra productivity and superior uptime. In addition to being sturdy, durable and having impressive fuel efficiency, the trucks meet the international standards for safety and stable road performance. And with comfortable driving interiors, the trucks are seen as powerful and versatile additions to any logistics fleet.
As a bonus during the events, an all-day vehicle health checks were conducted on the UD trucks of customers. This free service was extended as a platform to introduce the new and better uptime with longer service interval package that is now available for all UD Trucks’ customers in Malaysia. This latest service interval package introduces the Centralised Lubricating System that comprises new oil drain interval for both UD Quester and Croner. This new service interval is currently the longest in the market within the Japanese truck segment.

Also coinciding with the open house in Butterworth was a truck handover ceremony to celebrate the delivery of nine units of UD Quester to VXL Alliance Sdn Bhd, an airfreight and logistics transportation company. Established in 2006 in Bayan Lepas, Penang, VXL Alliance transports electronic and machinery items in north and central Malaysia.
Aznan Abd Aziz, Executive Director of VXL Alliance, shared: “We made our first order for UD Quester in 2017 and our drivers have been impressed with its driveability, robust quality and fuel efficiency. The UD telematics system and engine performance of UD Quester also made it an easy decision for us to purchase another eight units, which we would use for our business expansion and meeting rising customer demands.
“Being in the logistics industry, timeliness is extremely important and to achieve this, we need vehicles that could take the load to deliver productivity with superior uptime.
