Scania Malaysia Hands Over Fuel-Efficient Trucks and Buses to Local Operators

Scania New Bus Generation fleet delivery in Malaysia

Scania delivered connected, safety-focused trucks and buses to logistics and transport operators across Malaysia.

The Deliveries Reflect the Trend in Malaysia’s Commercial Vehicle Sector

Scania Malaysia has handed over new trucks and buses to three transport operators earlier this month, as fleet owners continue to invest in more fuel-efficient, connected, and safety-focused vehicles.

Overland Total Logistics Services took delivery of three Scania Super trucks. Each truck is powered by a 13-litre six-cylinder engine delivering high torque at low engine speeds, a configuration aimed at reducing fuel consumption while maintaining heavy-duty performance. The trucks are fitted with safety systems including curtain airbags, a steering wheel airbag, an electronic braking system with anti-lock braking, and traction control.

The keys to the trucks were handed over to Wilson Ong, Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Overland Total Logistics Services, by Wong Nyook Lin, Dealer Director for the Northern Region at Scania Southeast Asia.

Silamtra Jaya also expanded its fleet with the addition of three Scania New Bus Generation. Scania said the buses are engineered to deliver fuel and emissions savings through improved engine efficiency and cruise control with active prediction, while retaining drivability.

The buses feature reinforced chassis construction and come with standard safety systems, including lane departure warning, electronic braking with anti-lock braking, and traction control. They are also supported by repair and maintenance contracts and connected digital services, allowing the transport operator to monitor vehicle performance, fuel use, and emissions using Scania’s fleet management platforms. Drivers are also provided with access to digital tools via the Scania Driver app.

Suffian Daud, Managing Director of Silmatra Jaya, represented the company during the handover ceremony. He received the keys from Yusdi Amir Mohd Yusof, Area Sales Manager of Bus and Coach at Scania Southeast Asia.

Separately, Kay R Resources received Scania Super G460A6X4NZ trucks, equipped with a high-torque 13-litre engine designed for demanding operations. The trucks are equipped with the same basic safety systems as other Scania Super models.

Saiful Adli, Operations and Sales Executive at Kay R Resources, received the vehicles from Johan Clason, Presales and Logistics Director of Scania Southeast Asia.
