Scania Digital Services Pivotal in Helping Reduce Carbon Emissions
Mohd Sidek Amzah Enterprise and Konsortium E-Mutiara Berhad emerged as winners in separate categories of Scania‘s Ecolution 2024 competitions, which recognise improvements in fuel efficiency and carbon dioxide emissions reduction across commercial transport fleets.
From the truck category, Mohd Sidek Amzah Enterprise won both the ‘A Good Company’ and ‘A Good Driver’ competitions in Scania Ecolution 2024, recording the greatest improvement in carbon emissions reduction in each category.
In the ‘A Good Company’ competition, the firm achieved a 13 per cent improvement in carbon emissions reduction. Overland Total Logistic Services (M) Sdn Bhd placed first runner-up with a 10 per cent improvement, while Mun Loon Paper Converting Sdn Bhd finished second runner-up with a 3 per cent improvement.
In the ‘A Good Driver’ competition for trucks, Mohd Sidek Amzah, representing the company, also recorded a 13 per cent improvement in carbon reduction compared to the previous year. LYC Marketing & Transport Sdn Bhd and Mekar Angkut Sdn Bhd were named first and second runners-up, respectively, each achieving an 11 per cent improvement.
“Consistency in good driving habits is very important. It doesn’t just save fuel; it also helps save lives. I’m very happy and honoured to receive both titles this year, as this is our first time receiving such an honour from Scania. With the help of the Scania Driver app, we are confident that we can save even more next year,” Mohd Sidek Amzah said.
Both competitions are open to companies participating in the Scania Ecolution partnership, under which Scania Malaysia works with operators to set and achieve fuel and carbon reduction targets through vehicle optimisation, digital services, and driver support tools.
“Congratulations to all winners of this year’s Scania Ecolution ‘A Good Company’ and ‘A Good Driver’ competition. We look forward to building more Scania Ecolution partnerships, as we believe that sustainability and profitability can go hand in hand, especially in supporting companies on their journey towards achieving their ESG goals,” said David Lantz, Driving the Shift Director of Scania Southeast Asia.
‘A Good Driver’ Title for Konsortium E-Mutiara in Bus and Coach Category

From the bus and coach category, Konsortium E-Mutiara Berhad managed to secure the ‘A Good Driver’ title following a 5 per cent recorded improvement in carbon emissions reduction.
The award was won by driver Razali bin Mat, marking the firm’s third recognition under the Scania Ecolution programme. Mohd Zulhafiz Firdaus bin Mohd Rosli of Sani Express Sdn Bhd was named first runner-up, having also achieved a 5% improvement in carbon emissions reduction.
“Maintaining consistent and good driving habits is crucial—not only for saving fuel but also for protecting lives. I’m truly honoured to receive the Best Driver title this year, as it marks our third recognition from Scania. With the support of the Scania Driver app, we’re confident we can achieve even greater savings next year,” Razali said.
Scania Malaysia‘s ‘A Good Driver’ competition forms part of Scania‘s broader Ecolution initiative, which aims to reduce environmental impact by encouraging fuel-efficient driving practices supported by digital fleet management and driver performance tools.
Scania Digital Services plays an important role in this initiative. The Scania Fleet Management System Control Package provides fleet managers with actionable insights via the My Scania portal and the Scania Fleet app, including real-time data on positioning, vehicle performance, CO₂ emissions, service planning, defect reporting, and driver evaluation.
Meanwhile, the Scania Driver app supports drivers directly by enabling pre-departure checks, tracking driving time and performance, viewing service bookings, and locating the nearest Scania workshop.
“Congratulations to the drivers of Konsortium E-Mutiara Berhad and Sani Express Sdn Bhd for achieving the best improvement in carbon emission reduction throughout this competition. Your unwavering commitment to the Scania Ecolution partnership will not only produce top-class drivers who save fuel but also help reduce CO₂ emissions for the environment and future generations,” Lantz said.
