Sani United upgrades its fleet with 15 Scania Euro V buses, improving fuel efficiency, safety, and digital fleet management.
Scania’s Reliability the Key to Its Long-Standing Relationship with Sani United
Sani United Berhad has strengthened its long-standing relationship with Scania Malaysia by rejuvenating its fleet with 15 new units of the Scania K450CB6X2NI New Bus Generation. The handover ceremony in July 31, 2025, saw Sani United’s Managing Director, Ida Nureeni Haji Ismail, receiving the keys from Scania Southeast Asia’s Central Region Dealer Manager, Phang Yee Fong.
The latest purchase marks a significant step in Sani United’s fleet modernisation efforts, with the new buses offering improved fuel efficiency and low emissions. Compared to the previous generation, the Scania K450CB6X2NI New Bus Generation delivers up to 9 per cent fuel savings without compromising performance. Its Euro V engine alone can save up to 7 per cent, depending on engine size, configuration, and usage. Enhanced gearbox options and Scania Cruise Control with Active Prediction further contribute to operational efficiency.
“Our sustainable partnership with Scania since 2008 has grown stronger with the latest addition of 15 Scania K450CB6X2NI New Bus Generation units due to Scania’s proven reliability, which maximises our uptime and gives our customers a worry-free journey,” said Ida Nureeni, as quoted from Scania Malaysia‘s official Facebook page.
“Customers return to us because they trust our product reliability, strong after-sales support, and nationwide service network,” a representative from Hap Seng, Scania’s official distributor in Malaysia, told Truck & Bus News.
The new coaches are equipped with advanced safety features, including Advanced Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Blind Spot Warning (BSW), as well as Electronic Braking System (EBS) with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control, and Lane Departure Warning (LDW). These features are designed to enhance road safety for passengers, drivers, and other road users.
Passenger comfort has also been prioritised. The Scania New Bus Generation features improved suspension, an efficient gearbox for smoother rides, effective climate control, and a low-noise interior. Meanwhile, the driver’s cabin offers “an optimal work environment” with excellent ergonomics, reachability, and visibility.
Sani United’s acquisition of the 15 new coaches includes Scania’s Fleet Management System Control Package that provides access to the full suite of Scania Digital Services. Using My Scania portal and Fleet app, the company can continuously monitor the fleet’s performance, CO₂ emissions, real-time location, service schedules, and even drivers’ behaviours.
Drivers will also benefit from Scania‘s digital ecosystem through the Scania Driver app, which allows them to view core vehicle data, submit pre-departure checks, track their driving time and performance, view service appointments, and locate the nearest Scania workshop.
