Mitsubishi Fuso Super Great heavy-duty truck Taiwan

Mitsubishi Fuso introduced the new Super Great in Taiwan, featuring ADAS technologies and Truckonnect telematics.

The Redesigned Model Was First Unveiled at the Japan Mobility Show 2023

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (Mitsubishi Fuso) has launched a new model of its Super Great heavy-duty truck in Taiwan, marking the first overseas rollout of the model since its full redesign in Japan.

With the launch, held in collaboration with local distributor Daimler Truck Asia Taiwan (DTAT), the Japanese truck maker aims to further strengthen its position in a market where it has operated for about 60 years.

The new Super Great is the first full model change of the heavy-duty truck in six years, following its debut in Japan in 2017. The new model was first unveiled at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 and introduced to the Japanese market in early 2025. At the end of the year, Taiwan became the first overseas market to finally receive the redesigned truck, which will be exported as a CBU vehicle from Mitsubishi Fuso‘s Kawasaki plant.

“The launch of the New Super Great represents a pivotal starting point for the next generation of Taiwan’s commercial vehicle industry. Equipped with advanced German engineering and flagship-level safety technologies, we are committed to helping our customers achieve greater efficiency and competitiveness, while accelerating the alignment of Taiwan’s transportation ecosystem with global standards,” DTAT CEO, Jung Woo Park, said.

DTAT will continue to serve as a trusted industry partner, working alongside fleet operators in Taiwan to build a safer, more sustainable, and forward-looking transportation landscape,” he added.

The Taiwan-spec Super Great is equipped with a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) aimed at improving safety for large commercial vehicles. These include Active Brake Assist 6, which uses cameras and radar to detect potential collisions with vehicles or pedestrians, and can apply braking assistance if necessary.

The truck also features Active Side Guard Assist 2.0, which provides warnings for pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles when turning or changing lanes, as well as a front blind spot information system designed to alert drivers to their surroundings when starting at low speeds.

In addition, the Super Great also supports Mitsubishi Fuso‘s Truckonnect telematics service, allowing fleet operators to monitor vehicles in real time via the internet, as demand grows in Taiwan for improved fleet visibility and safety management.

According to Mitsubishi Fuso‘s official statement, pre-orders for the new Super Great in Taiwan have exceeded 100 units as of November 2025.
