Malaysia’s transport sector has reached a new milestone in safety and regulatory compliance with the full integration of Speed Limitation Devices (SLD) across all MAN trucks and buses. By embedding this technology directly into the Electronic Control Unit (ECU), MAN sets a fresh benchmark for road safety and operational standards in the commercial vehicle industry. No Extra Cost for Customers
In line with its safety-first approach, MAN is offering SLD verification at no additional cost to its customers, subject to eligibility. The complimentary service covers:
- Verification of the vehicle’s current speed limit
- Adjustment to 90 km/h in line with Ministry of Transport requirements
- Registration of details with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) via chassis and registration number
- Issuance of a confirmation slip for record-keeping and Puspakom inspections, valid for two years
This streamlined process eliminates compliance headaches for fleet operators, ensuring that regulatory requirements are met efficiently and without hidden costs.
Built-In, Not Bolted-On
Unlike retrofitted systems, MAN’s SLD integration has been part of its vehicle design from the outset. Both trucks and buses come equipped with the function embedded in their ECU, requiring no additional installation time or expense.
