Chin Hua Differentiates Itself through Josam Technolo
Kuantan-based Chin Hua Autoworks Sdn Bhd decided to differentiate itself from the competitors through investment and deployment of technology in an increasingly competitive market place. The company is the only collision repair workshop in the east coast to invest in Josam truck flame repair equipment.
“Straightening a frame is a critical element of a quality collision repair job. Improper straighten- ing techniques would lead to costly and time consuming mistakes, affecting safety, repair quality and the confidence of customers. With the Josam truck frame repair equipment, we are able to speed up the strengthening process, restore the frame to its original shape with ac- curacy using hydraulics and torque that humans simply can’t do,” said Chan Chin Hua, the found- er of Chin Hua Auto Works Sdn Bhd.
Chan revealed that he saw the equipment at a friend’s workshop in Kajang. After understanding how the equipment worked, Chan knew that it would be suitable for his workshop.
“We bought the equipment from Manbeni Ma- chine Tools Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Josam’s products in Malaysia. However, besides having the proper tools and equipment for frame straightening and repairs, it is importance to have well trained and experienced technicians that could handle both the equipment and job, as the extent of damage to the vehicle’s frame is different after a crash. With the necessary train- ing from Manbeni, we already know how to use the equipment and found that it was quite user friendly. In addition, accuracy is assured.”
Chan had been in the industry close to 30 years. He started working in a workshop after leaving school and learned from scratch. In 2000, Chan opened his workshop in the Padang Lalang In- dustrial area. At that time, Chan only had 6 work- ers and concentrated on passenger car and light truck repairs due to space constraints.
Over the years, the company grew tremendous- ly and became the biggest commercial vehicle collision repair provider in the east coast with 20 workers. Chan moved to Mukim Sungai Ka- rang in 2012. The 3.5-acre workshop with 6 bays and 1 spray booth enabled Chan to expand into heavy duty commercial vehicle collision repair.
