Lorry System Now Ready to Scale Its Work and Collaborate

Lorry System Sdn Bhd has earned international recognition after finishing 3rd in the Best Industry Adoption category at the 2025 oneM2M Hackathon, a global competition highlighting real-world Internet of Things (IoT) innovation.

Representing Malaysia, Lorry System‘s team competed against participants from numerous countries and delivered a solution that impressed judges for its practical, scalable approach to connected fleet technology.

In its official statement, Lorry System wrote, “This recognition reaffirms our commitment to driving innovation in the logistics and transportation ecosystem, and our continuous effort to integrate ADAS, DMS, IoT, and AI-powered solutions to support safer, smarter, and more efficient fleet operations.”

The team comprising Sasitheran Pathmanathan, Parimala Ponnusamy, and Nabilla Omar, under the tutelage of Pathmanathan Muniandy, showcased an integrated use of AI (artificial intelligence), IoT, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and driver monitoring technologies designed to help fleet managers boost safety compliance, operational visibility, and efficiency.

In her LinkedIn post, Parimala reflected on the achievement, saying, “This accomplishment means a lot to us as we continue building solutions that bridge AI, IoT, ADAS & DMS technologies for safer, smarter, and more efficient transport operations. Moments like this remind me why the journey is worth it — the learning, the resilience, and the purpose behind every step.”

She also expressed gratitude, adding, “A heartfelt appreciation to my teammate Sasitheran Pathmanathan and Nabilla Omar for the dedication and teamwork, and to the organisers and oneM2M community for this valuable platform. Special thank you to our mentor, Mr Pathmanathan Muniandy, for his continuous guidance, clarity, and belief in our vision.”

Lorry System‘s participation in the hackathon reflects its broader mission to strengthen Malaysia’s logistics sector through advanced digital technology. The company has been developing an AI-powered Transport Management System (TMS), aligned with Malaysia Digital and the Malaysia AI Roadmap 2021-2025, supporting the nation’s move toward a more resilient, data-driven, and sustainable digital economy.

The oneM2M Hackathon, backed by eight major global standards bodies, serves as a platform for innovators to build solutions using internationally recognised IoT frameworks. Lorry System‘s podium finish positions Malaysia as a growing contributor to global IoT standard adoption and applied AI innovation.

Looking ahead, Lorry System expressed readiness to scale its work further. As Parimala noted, they are “ready to collaborate with Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), MPC Productivity, and Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation to bring this innovation to SME operators in the transportation industry.”
