MAA

Year-to-date sales volume at the end of May 2022 was 25 per cent higher than the corresponding period in 2021 with 31, 541 registrations.

MAA Expects Sales in June better than May 2022

According to the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA)’s report, the commercial vehicle sales for the month of May 2022 stood at 5,893 units, as compared to 4,692 units sold in May 2021, representing a 26 per cent jump.

Year-to-date sales volume at the end of May 2022 was 25 per cent higher than the corresponding period in 2021 with 31, 541 registrations.

The Association is expecting that sales in June 2022 will be better than May 2022.  A sales tax exemption incentive for consumers to buy passenger vehicles (which is due to expire by end June 2022) and an aggressive push for sales by car companies is expected to give impetus. However a shortage of chips and components, as well as supply chain disruptions will continue to affect some brands.
