Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Co., Ltd. delivered an electric light-duty truck "eCanter" to be used for delivery of school meals.

First Direct Delivery to Local Goverments

Taketoyo Town is actively working on decarbonisation, such as the declaration of "Zero Carbon City", which will reduce carbon dioxide (CO 2) emissions to virtually zero by 2050 . The "Zero Carbon City Declaration" includes measures such as "promoting the introduction of next-generation vehicles when renewing public vehicles" and promoting the installation of quick charging equipment for electric vehicles.

As one of these efforts, Taketoyo Town has decided to introduce "eCanter" as an alternative to the natural gas vehicle that has been used as a school lunch delivery vehicle. The "eCanter" is MFTBC's first mass-produced electric light-duty truck in Japan and does not emit any emissions including (CO 2) when driving.

A delivery ceremony was held on February 2, 2022 at the Taketoyo Town School Lunch Center. Mayor Paddyyama stated that it is a great honor to deliver "eCanter" to local governments because Honmachi is the first in Japan. Not only considering the global environment, but also interest in "Zero Carbon City" for children.

They are also expecting the effect of increasing the cost & deliver delicious food to elementary and junior high schools in the town with an environmentally friendly delivery vehicle. This is the second case of using "eCanter" in a local government, and the first case of direct delivery to a local government.
