Commercial Vehicle Sales in December Up 22 Per Cent
The sales volume for commercial vehicle for December 2020 surged 22 per cent to 6,714 units, up from 5,524 units in the same month a year ago.
Total Vehicle Sales Volume Grows 21.8 Per Cent
Based on the vehicle sales data released by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA), the total vehicle sales volume in December increased by 21.8 per cent to 68,836 units from 56,489 units in November 2020, which was 12,347 units more.
However, the total industry volume (TIV) registered in 2020 was 529,434 units, dropped by 12.4 per cent or 74,847 units, compared with 604, 281 units in 2019.
The sales volume for commercial vehicle for December 2020 surged 22 per cent to 6,714 units, up from 5,524 units in the same month a year ago.
Year-to-date(YTD) figures sees the commercial vehicle sales volume dropping 10.4 per cent or 5,635 units to 48, 464 units compared to the corresponding period in 2019 which stood at 54,104 units.
Meanwhile, the vehicle production volume for commercial vehicles in December rose 30 per cent from the 3,025 units in the same month in 2019 to 3,943 units.
The cumulative production YTD figures of commercial vehicle for 2020 was 27,431 units has dropped by 26.8 per cent or 10,086 units from 37,517 units as compared to the same period in 2019.
