Hino truck in the GD Express fleet was presented with a Certificate of Reliability for reaching 1,000,000 km without undergoing an engine overhaul.
A Hino truck, operated by GD Express Sdn Bhd (GDEX), one of the leading courier companies in Malaysia, has reached 1,000,000 kilometres without an engine overhaul.
To celebrate the achievement, Hino Motor Sales Malaysia Sdn Bhd (HMSM) Managing Director Atsushi Uchiyama presented a Reliability Certificate to GDEX Managing Director Teong Teck Lean as recognition of the truck’s reliability and the company’s good maintenance of the truck.
“The reliability of a truck is one of the main concerns that every business owner is looking for. Travelling for 1 million kilometres without the need to undergo an engine overhaul not only proves the reliability of the truck but also shows the credibility of the Hino Total Support value,” said Uchiyama.
Driven by the pillar of Hino’s product philosophy - Hino QDR: Quality, Durability and Reliability - the company expressed pride in having another truck proving its value. The truck has been operating since 2006 on long and line haul routes in Ayer Keroh and other areas of the southern region.
Covering the route for more than 10 years and clocking up to the 1,000,000km without an engine overhaul was indeed seen as a great achievement.
“We are very honoured to receive the recognition given by Hino. Our in-house maintenance also played an important part in maintaining all the vehicles. Not forgetting, on-time servicing at the Hino authorised service centre is also required to ensure the quality of the vehicle is well preserved. In addition, the reliability of the truck is not only centred on the fervour of the owner, but it also relies on good after-sales services,” said Teong.
Besides that, the use of Hino genuine parts is deemed to be one of the factors too.
With the Hino Total Support concept, Teong continued, Hino prioritised two values – maximised vehicle uptime and minimised vehicle lifetime cost.
“The driver training programme conducted at Hino Total Support Customer Centre (HTSCC) in Sendayan is equally important as driver skill also plays a role in the vehicle’s reliability,” he added.
The last mile delivery business is GDEX’s main focus. Currently, the company owns more than 1,200 operating vehicles and 764 of them are from Hino.

此外,采用日野纯正零部件也是其中的一个要素。
他继续说,透过日野全方位支援中心,日野优先重视这两大价值—将车辆的出勤率最大化和将车辆的使用寿命成本最小化。
“在位于Sendayan日野全方位客户支援中心(HTSCC)主办的司机培训课程,也同样重要,因为司机技巧也在车辆可靠性中扮演重要角色。”他补充。
最后一哩运送是吉运速递的主要业务。目前,在该公司拥有的超过1,200 辆车辆中,日野卡车占了764辆。
