DRB-HICOM Commercial Vehicles Sdn Bhd’s (DHCV), the distributor of Tata vehicles in Malaysia, appointed Ch’ng Chee Heng as the Tata authorised dealer in February 2018. The opening of the new 3S facility further augments DHCV’s commitment to strengthen Tata’s presence in the Malaysian market.
Since its brand launch in 2015, DHCV has sold 658 Tata commercial vehicles. The total sales volume consisted of pickup trucks, light trucks and prime movers. This puts Tata in 10th place among the 28 competing brands in the commercial vehicle (CV) category.
The showroom is strategically located in the industrial area to cater to the sales, after-sales support and needs of Tata vehicle owners in Batu Pahat, surrounding areas and neighbouring zones. It is envisaged to also take advantage of the industrial area that offers huge potential for the future growth of the Tata brand.
In conjunction with the opening of the 3S centre, the recently launched models Tata Super Ace and Tata Ultra range were put on display. These vehicles are designed for the modern commercial vehicle customer, with superior performance, world-class cabins, high load carrying capacity and flexible body-load configurations.
DHCV Chief Operating Officer Chin Tan Hee said: “I am pleased to see the effort that Ch’ng Chee Heng has taken to promote Tata products through this new facility as well as develop body applications for the Tata Super Ace – box van and steel body applications.
“Ch’ng Chee Heng is now a full-fledged 3S centre that would provide sales, service and spare-parts operation and this is very important in our efforts to provide excellent customer service from the moment a customer walks into any dealership.”
He added: “We must make every effort to ensure customer satisfaction to boost the Tata brand. DHCV would continue to work closely with our principal Tata Motors Limited, India to offer products with good value for the money and best overall package to the Malaysian commercial vehicle market.”
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ch’ng Choon Huan, Managing Director of Ch’ng Chee Heng Used Part, said: “It is indeed an honour that DHCV, the distributors of Tata Commercial Vehicles in Malaysia, chose to appoint Ch’ng Chee Heng as the authorised dealer to market the Tata product range. This amplifies DHCV’s trust in Ch’ng Chee Heng’s commitment to not only introduce Tata vehicles as the preferred vehicle for commercial use in Batu Pahat, but also its ability to spur Tata’s market presence and growth in the state of Johor.”
He elaborated: “The commercial vehicle industry needs cost-effective and reliable vehicles to boost profitability and efficiency, and I believe Tata has what the industry needs with a range of dependable products that are competitively priced.”
