Isuzu is Top Commercial Vehicle Brand in Malaysia for Fifth Year

Isuzu Malaysia welcomes 2019 by coming out top for the fifth year in a row, maintaining its Number 1 position as the nation’s preferred commercial vehicle (CV) brand for 2018, according to the overall sales figures recently released by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA).

Despite facing various economic hurdles and market uncertainties, Isuzu Malaysia retained its spot as CV Number 1 by ending 2018 with total combined sales of 6,036 trucks from its respective segments. It leads the commercial vehicle segment by a significant difference of 584 units against the main competitor.

Chief Executive Officer of Isuzu Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Koji Nakamura, expressed his delight and gratitude in his New Year’s address to business partners, aside from the company’s management and staff, on the brand’s success in achieving the top spot for a fifth consecutive year. Nakamura added that this remarkable achievement would not have been possible without the unyielding support and top-notch services rendered by the company’s skilled dealers and workforce.

According to Nakamura: “Despite facing market saturation, Isuzu Malaysia rose above the sales volume of well-known brands due to the tremendous effort put in by all the parties involved. Dealer activities saw great improvements through various after-sales plans and measures, aside from timely fulfilment through the Isuzu Service Centre (ISC).”

He added: “Heading towards the 2019 target, Isuzu aims to be more ‘proactive’ in identifying new possibilities. We would move towards better support and greater cooperation among internal key divisions to maximise business opportunities and enhance dealer development activities.”

For Isuzu Malaysia, Nakamura said the strategy remained the same – ensuring that customer satisfaction always comes first. This could be achieved by handling customers’ needs with great care and consideration, aside from providing excellent after-sales services. Nakamura considers these value-added services as crucial in times of intense market competition and economic uncertainties.
