The leading story in this month’s issue is Scania launching their Super 7 promotion. The company has done it again with this Super 7 offering, being the first heavy-duty commercial vehicle manufacturer in Malaysia to package a combination of seven years instalment plan with seven years maintenance contract that would lock in profits for seven years on a Scania truck that is purchased. The promotional period ends on 31st December, 2022.
We also did a special feature for MAN Truck & Bus that showcasing their futuristic products and solutions at IAA Transportation 2022. The all-electric city bus has impressed the jury during the ‘Bus Euro Test’ and bagged this prestigious award that was presented by Tom Terjesen to Rudi Kuchta, as part of the ‘Stars of the Year’ event hosted by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) to mark the opening of IAA Transportation 2022 in Hanover.
Positive market recovery signs continued with reports on handovers and new acquirement of trucks, as well new dealership announcements and the expansion of service outlet networks. These include Hino sealing a repair & maintenance contract and handing over 27 minibuses to E-Mutiara, as well as appointing two new service outlets in the Northern region of Malaysia. On top of this, Isuzu delivered its first unit of the new generation Giga Prime Mover to Xinsteel and named Universal Motor Sdn Bhd its first medium- and heavy-duty (MHD) truck dealership in Sabah. This is followed by Scania Malaysia delivering the first Scania ADR new truck generation (NTG) P410 A6X2NA in Sarawak to Jospun Jaya Sdn Bhd at the their workshop in Bintulu. As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, Scania Malaysia has handed over two units of Scania K 360 IB 4×2 coaches, one each to the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) Semai Bakti Hostel Kuala Lumpur and Maktab Rendah Sains Mara(Mrsm), Trolak, Perak.
Is Malaysia ready for electric vehicles? Swift Haulage thinks so and is the first to add Volvo electric commercial vehicles to it fleet while MAN Malaysia is all set to introduce a bus with a Euro V engine & e-chassis next year.
