Hino Rolls Out Its First Locally Assembled Euro 5 LCV

Hino Malaysia achieved a major milestone in its sustainability journey with the roll-out of the country’s first locally assembled Euro 5-compliant Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) 4-wheeler.

Hino Launches Malaysia’s First Euro 5-Compliant LCV

The four units were assembled at the Hino Motors Manufacturing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (HMMMY) plant in Sendayan and officially handed over to Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (HMSM) during a ceremony attended by HMMMY staff.

This marked the first Euro 5 LCV 4-wheeler produced in Malaysia, delivered ahead of the Department of Environment’s (DOE) new regulations, which require all new commercial vehicle models to comply with Euro 4 or higher emission standards.

As a Complete Knocked Down (CKD) model, the vehicle has been thoroughly developed to meet all regulatory requirements before its market launch.

“We are proud to produce the very first Euro 5 Hino model and to mark it as the first locally assembled Euro 5 LCV 4-wheeler in Malaysia. This is a major milestone and reflects our capability in delivering high-quality, regulation-compliant vehicles,” said Hiroshi Yamaguchi, Managing Director of HMMMY.

He further added, “This isn’t just about meeting regulatory standards, it’s about offering a vehicle that delivers environmental benefits while meeting the practical needs of our customers.”

The new model features several upgrades, including a Diesel Particulate active Reduction (DPR) system that reduces emissions by capturing and burning off exhaust soot. This system helps ensure lower emissions without compromising engine performance.

Aligned with Hino’s safety-first approach, the Euro 5 model also includes enhanced features such as an airbag system and improved gear components for better user experience.

The Euro 5 LCV 4-wheeler and 6-wheeler lineup is expected to launch officially in Q4 2025, marking a key step in Hino’s roadmap to deliver cleaner, high-performance commercial vehicles for the Malaysian market.
