Global players like Astra and Scantruck confirm participation for the 2026 debut of Automechanika Jakarta at the NICE convention centre.

Global Automotive Industry Eyes Indonesia

The global automotive industry has shown significant interest in the upcoming debut of Automechanika Jakarta, with organisers confirming that 60 per cent of the exhibition floor has already been booked. Scheduled to take place from September 24 to 27, 2026, at the Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE), the event will span 15,000 square metres across three halls, serving as a gateway for international and domestic players to access the Indonesian market.

The exhibition arrives at a time of robust growth for Indonesia’s automotive sector. As Southeast Asia’s largest manufacturing base, the country produced approximately 1.15 million cars and nearly 7 million motorcycles in 2025. This industrial strength is reflected in the early commitment from a diverse mix of global brands, local manufacturers, and service providers to showcase their products at the exhibition.

Leading Indonesian companies, such as Astra International, Dharma Group, and Indoprima Group, have already confirmed their participation. Astra International, a major manufacturer and distributor for brands including Denso and Aisin, views the event as a critical junction for future growth.

“We recognise the growing demand for high-quality auto components in production and the aftermarket in Indonesia. This event is a vital platform for collaboration and aligning our strategies with global trends to support Indonesia’s evolving automotive landscape,” said Martogi Siahaan, Director of Astra Otoparts.

Other domestic giants like Indoprima Group are looking to leverage their long-standing history with the Automechanika brand since 2014. Ricky Setiawan, Commercial General Manager of Indospring, a subsidiary of the group, stated that as a regional hub for automotive spare parts, the show offers excellent opportunities to meet potential customers from around the world.

Meanwhile, the global appeal of the Indonesian market is evidenced by the confirmation of five dedicated country and region pavilions from China, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. The Singapore pavilion, supported by the Singaporean government, will feature roughly 20 companies. Among them is Scantruck Singapore, which provides European commercial vehicle parts and technical expertise.

Ricky Widjajakusuma, General Manager of Scantruck Singapore, said, “What makes the market particularly attractive is the strong growth in sectors such as logistics, mining, construction, and infrastructure development, which continue to drive demand for reliable aftermarket parts and service support. Automechanika Jakarta helps to bridge international suppliers with the local market, and we are excited to explore new collaborations in Indonesia.”

The Malaysian pavilion will host TriAlliance, which is targeting the region’s growing middle class and the rise of new-energy vehicles. “We see strong potential in this market through a growing middle class, rising vehicle ownership, and more new-energy vehicles that are driving demand for an enhanced aftermarket. Automechanika Jakarta supports our global strategy by letting us showcase new products, build partnerships, and expand our presence,” said Thorben Schröder, General Manager at TriAlliance.

A major focal point of the 2026 edition will be the rapid transition towards electric vehicles (EVs). With the Indonesian government aiming to deploy 15 million EVs by 2030, the demand for specialised skills and adapted technologies is surging. Automechanika Jakarta will showcase cutting-edge solutions across various categories, including electronics, diagnostics, and digital services, to meet these evolving requirements.

Automechanika Jakarta 2026 will be co-located with Drive Expo Jakarta, an exhibition showcasing the latest passenger and commercial vehicle models.
