Hino Malaysia graduates its HTIP Class of 2025, producing technicians trained to dealer-ready standard across the full Hino vehicle range.
Hino Malaysia Celebrates HTIP Class of 2025 Graduation
Following eight months of intensive training, ten second-batch trainees of the class of 2025 have officially graduated from the Hino Technical Internship Program (HTIP). The graduation ceremony was held on February 20th, 2026.
First established in 2012, HTIP is Hino Motors Sales Malaysia’s (Hino Malaysia) training programme, aimed at producing a skilled and dependable technical workforce. Each batch of trainees undergoes hands-on technical training conducted at Hino Malaysia‘s facility in Petaling Jaya.
HTIP‘s curriculum covers Hino’s safety standards and working procedures, as well as the full breadth of the company’s vehicle technology, from servicing, repairs, electrical system, to fault diagnosis. Trainees are required to achieve a minimum score of 70 per cent to graduate.
A Hino Malaysia representative told Truck & Bus News that HTIP was conceived to help Hino‘s dealer network build and sustain strong technical teams capable of supporting customers in the commercial vehicle sector. A key objective of this programme is to ensure graduates are work-ready from day one, requiring no additional training once they are deployed at their respective dealerships.
“When they report for duty at dealers, they are ready to start the job, no need for additional training,” the representative said, while also describing that HTIP is part of Hino Malaysia‘s Total Support approach for dealers and customers alike.
However, graduates who join the dealer network are not at the end of their development journey. HTIP serves as the gateway to Hino‘s broader qualification framework, the Hino Qualification System (HQS), through which technicians can progressively advance from HS4 Junior Technician to HS3 Senior Technician, HS2 Pro Technician, and ultimately HS1 Master Technician. HQS qualifications are pursued through a combination of e-learning, using syllabi developed in Japan, and practical assessments conducted at Hino Malaysia in Petaling Jaya.
A total of 13 trainees have graduated as part of the class of 2025. Before the ten trainees of the second batch graduated in February, three trainees of the first batch had graduated earlier. The Hino representative said that two of the three graduates went on to attain Master Technician level; one became a Technical Trainer and another a Technical Executive, both at Hino Kuching. Meanwhile, the third left the company after serving as a Service Advisor.
Hino Malaysia has confirmed that HTIP will continue to run annually, subject to demand from dealers. The company aims to produce ten graduates annually.
