Scania Malaysia Secures Follow-Up Order for 10 Super P460 ADR Trucks

Scania Malaysia has delivered 10 new G420 Super trucks to Pearl Petroleum & Transport Sdn Bhd, marking a further step in the manufacturer’s supply relationship with the Malaysian haulier, which was established in 2023.

The handover ceremony took place at Scania Malaysia’s Bukit Jelutong facility, during which Joyce Antar, Managing Director of Scania Southeast Asia, officially handed over the keys to Reena Ramakrishnan, Director of Pearl Petroleum & Transport.

During the ceremony, Scania Malaysia also secured a subsequent agreement with Pearl Petroleum & Transport for 10 Super P460 trucks, which are specifically tailored for bulk ADR operations and will feature Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to meet the safety requirements of hazardous materials transport.

The Scania G420 Super truck is powered by a 13-litre six-cylinder engine capable of generating 2,300 Nm of torque at 900 rpm. This powertrain is also engineered to deliver up to 8 per cent fuel efficiency, making it Scania‘s most efficient internal combustion engine currently available in the regional market.

The truck has also been equipped with safety features, including side curtain and steering wheel airbags. Electronic Brake System (EBS) with Anti-Lock Braking (ABS) and Traction Control (TC) are also present to ensure optimal safety and stability.

Scania, in its official statement, said that it will further support Pearl Petroleum & Transport‘s sustainability targets through an Ecolution partnership, as well as the provision of digital fleet management tools. These systems enable real-time tracking of CO₂ emissions and vehicle performance. The haulier’s drivers will also receive Scania ProDriver coaching to develop and maintain fuel-efficient driving habits.

The 20-unit fleet expansion is supported by Scania Financial Services and includes an inclusive maintenance package. Scania‘s regional support network, which includes 14 workshops across Malaysia and Singapore and 24/7 roadside assistance, will manage the servicing to ensure maximum uptime.
