Isuzu D-MAX and MU-X Post Strong Results at Philippines DOE Fuel Eco-Run

Isuzu Philippines vehicles at DOE Fuel Eco-Run

The Isuzu D-MAX and MU-X delivered strong fuel economy figures at the Philippines DOE Fuel Eco-Run conducted on TPLEX.

The D-MAX Recorded Fuel Efficiency of 20.63 km/Lge

The Isuzu D-MAX and Isuzu MU-X recorded strong fuel efficiency results at the 2025 Department of Energy (DOE) Fuel Eco-Run, reinforcing Isuzu Philippines Corporation‘s positioning in diesel efficiency and light commercial vehicles.

According to the company, the results were achieved during the annual Fuel Eco-Run conducted on September 24, 2025, an initiative organised by the DOE to assess real-world fuel consumption of vehicles in the Philippine market and provide consumers with comparative data.

Isuzu Philippines entered two models in the event. The Isuzu D-MAX LS-A 4×2 automatic competed in the N1 category and recorded a fuel efficiency figure of 20.63 km/Lge. Meanwhile, the Isuzu MU-X LS-A 4×2 automatic achieved 17.11 km/Lge in the M1 mid-size SUV category.

“These results reflect what our customers have long experienced with Isuzu vehicles. The exceptional performance of the D-MAX and MU-X comes as no surprise, as the Isuzu brand is globally renowned for fuel efficiency,” said Isuzu Philippines Sales Division Head, Robert Carlos.

“With our advanced diesel engine technology, combined with the aerodynamic design, both models are optimised to perform efficiently across various road conditions with less drag, translating into these impressive fuel economy results,” he explained.

The DOE Fuel Eco-Run was carried out entirely under highway driving conditions to simulate real-world usage closely. For the 2025 edition, participating vehicles covered a distance of more than 150 kilometres along the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) under the supervision of DOE officials.

Carlos noted that Isuzu Philippines appreciates the programme, saying, “We thank the Department of Energy for continuously conducting the Fuel Eco-Run. This initiative is a valuable service to Filipino consumers, as it promotes transparency, encourages manufacturers to innovate, and supports the country’s broader goals on energy efficiency and sustainability.”

Isuzu Philippines said the results underscore its ongoing focus on delivering durable, reliable, and fuel-efficient vehicles that meet the evolving needs of Filipino motorists.
