Scania Malaysia’s family-focused Alpha Champs at Work event highlighted sustainability through fun workshops, games, and hands-on truck experiences.
Scania Commits to Sustainability by Nurturing the Next Generation
More than 40 children aged 5 to 13 recently participated in the Alpha Champs at Work event held by Scania Malaysia at the company’s headquarters in Bukit Jeuntong. The event was part of Scania‘s commitment to sustainability, not just through transport solutions, but also by nurturing the future generation.
The children who participated in the Alpha Champs at Work event were all the children of Scania employees. Aside from seeing what their parents do at work during a behind-the-scenes tour, the children were also involved in several fun, educational, and inspirational activities.
“It’s important for children to see where their parents spend a big part of their day and to feel a sense of connection to that environment. Hosting this event was a great opportunity to make our workplace more inclusive, engaging and to show how we continue to drive the shift towards a sustainable transport system. Seeing the kids light up as they took part in the activities and explored our Scania trucks and buses was truly heartwarming,” said Emill Zulkipli, Learning Development Specialist of Scania Southeast Asia.
Throughout the day, the Alpha Champs at Work participants explored their creative side through activities such as a coaster-making workshop, face painting, and carnival booth games. They were also given the opportunity to climb aboard a real-life Scania fire truck, which offered a closer look at how the company supports emergency services.
“We believe that change begins with awareness, and that awareness starts at home,” said Joyce Antar, Managing Director of Scania Southeast Asia. “By inviting our employees’ children to experience what their parents do every day, we want to create a meaningful connection between family and purpose. It was inspiring to see the kids engage with our sustainability mission through hands-on activities and tours. Events like today not only strengthen our internal culture but also help us shape a future generation that understands the importance of driving real change.”
For Scania Malaysia, Alpha Champs at Work was more than a family day. More importantly, the event served as part of a strategic initiative to foster awareness and appreciation for sustainable transport for the next generation.
