Mirrors are a thing of the past – the future is all about cameras. With ProViu® Mirror, AUMOVIO offers a solution that replaces traditional wing mirrors on commercial vehicles while setting new standards in safety, visibility and efficiency. Instead of bulky mirror casings, high-resolution cameras and displays provide a crystal-clear surround view.
Perfect Visibility in all Weather Conditions
Conventional exterior mirrors have clear limitations: they create blind spots, can impair visibility in rain, snow, or low-setting sun, and cause unnecessary air resistance. ProViu® Mirror eliminates these weaknesses.
The system consists of high-resolution cameras that are mounted on the sides and front of the vehicle, depending on the configuration. With 60 frames per second and a latency of less than 80 milliseconds, LVDS technology delivers an image that far exceeds the requirements of UN ECE Regulation No. 46. This allows drivers to see traffic conditions in near real time – a decisive advantage in critical situations. The 3-megapixel camera resolution enables an extended field of view that can be individually adjusted and covers mirror classes II and IV and optionally classes V and VI.
In the driver’s cab, black panel displays (from 10.0 to 14.5 inches, depending on mirror class) with resolutions of up to 1920 x 720 pixels ensure sharp, high-contrast images. Integrated light sensors automatically regulate display brightness; HDR balances light and dark areas of the image; and LED Flicker Management suppresses annoying flickering. The built-in lens heater protects against fogging.
Modular and Flexible for Every Application
Thanks to its compact design and flexible power supply (9 to 32 V), the system can be integrated into almost any commercial vehicle. The production-ready platform solution makes ProViu® Mirror a universal solution for OEMs and retrofit customers alike. Manufacturers benefit from standardized hardware and software without additional development costs.
The configuration can be precisely adapted to the mirror class requirements:
- Classes II/IV: one camera per side, two displays inside
- Classes II/IV/V: one camera on the driver and two on the passenger side; three displays including one extra for class V
- Classes II/IV/V/VI – Option A: one camera on the driver and two on the passenger side, one front; three displays, the extra showing classes V and VI together
- Classes II/IV/V/VI – Option B: one camera on the driver and two on the passenger side, one front; four displays, one each for classes V and VI
This flexibility makes the ProViu® Mirror interesting for a wide range of applications – from city buses to coaches.
Future-Proof with Driver Assistance Systems
ProViu® Mirror is more than just a camera system – it is a platform for many other ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) functions. Additional features such as parking, turning or blind spot assistants can be easily integrated via the built-in CAN interface.
