Scania Proud to Partner Up with WBG – Joyce Antar
Scania has signed a Master Supply Agreement with WiredBoxGroup (WBG), a Singapore-based company that provides engineering solutions for AC/DC and DC/DC power systems. This agreement, according to Scania‘s official statement, reinforces its commitment to supporting customers in the transition to battery electric vehicles (BEVs).
The partnership usually covers both Malaysia and Singapore, where Scania will now be able to to offer customers a comprehensive, end-to-end mobility solution. This includes not only the supply of electric trucks and buses but also the charging infrastructure required to support them.
WBG, as an official supplier to Scania in Malaysia and Singapore, will assess charging needs at customer premises, supply and install chargers, and provide ongoing charger servicing. Meanwhile, Scania will focus on conducting feasibility studies for BEV adoption, financing the total solution, and handling vehicle servicing.
A key component of the collaboration is the supply of Kempower chargers, which WBG distributes in Malaysia and Singapore. Kempower has already worked with Scania in other international markets, where numerous installations and tests have been carried out.
This proven track record was one of the main factors for Scania to choose WBG as a partner, a Scania representative told Truck and Bus News. Customers will also benefit from flexibility, as Scania and WBG can provide both standardised and customised solutions tailored to the operational requirements of each fleet.
During the signing ceremony, Scania was represented by the Managing Director of Scania Southeast Asia, Joyce Antar. Meanwhile, WBG was represented by its Managing Director, Alfredo Couturier.
“We are proud to announce our partnership with WiredBoxGroup! Thanks to the hard work of all the people involved. Together we continue to deliver increased value, and total e-mobility solutions, to our customers in both Malaysia & Singapore,” Joyce wrote on her LinkedIn page.
David Lantz, Driving The Shift Director at Scania Southeast Asia, added that the partnership underscores Scania’s holistic approach:
“From feasibility assessments and vehicle servicing to the installation and maintenance of charging infrastructure, this collaboration ensures a seamless and tailored transition to electrification for our customers in Malaysia and Singapore,” he said.
