Hap Seng Delivers New Euro 5 FUSO Trucks to Tasco Berhad

Hap Seng Trucks Distribution Sdn Bhd (HSTD) has strengthened its long-standing partnership with Tasco Berhad through the recent delivery of three new Euro 5 FUSO trucks. The acquisition reflects Tasco’s dual focus on operational efficiency and environmental stewardship, aligning with its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments.

Three New Trucks Added

The decision to invest in Euro 5 technology was driven by the trucks’ lower emissions, improved fuel economy, and compliance with evolving sustainability standards. The new units will support Tasco’s goal of delivering greener logistics solutions without compromising on reliability or performance.

This latest delivery is an expansion rather than a fleet replacement. The trucks were procured to fulfil the requirements of a dedicated Tasco customer with strong ESG expectations—reinforcing Tasco’s strategy of tailoring its logistics services to meet the specific sustainability objectives of its clients.

Tasco Berhad’s relationship with FUSO spans many years, underpinned by consistent vehicle performance and dependable aftersales support from HSTD. The logistics operator currently runs 28 FUSO trucks, with the addition of the new Euro 5 models further enhancing its operational capacity.

“Our collaboration with Tasco is rooted in a shared vision for operational excellence and environmental responsibility,” said an HSTD spokesperson. “By supplying Euro 5-compliant vehicles, we are proud to contribute to Malaysia’s transition towards cleaner, more efficient transport operations.”

The Euro 5 FUSO trucks deliver up to 5% improved fuel efficiency and utilise Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) with AdBlue technology to cut nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by 43% and particulate matter by 80%. The result is quieter operation, smoother torque delivery, and reduced environmental impact—all while offering longer service intervals and lower maintenance costs, improving total cost of ownership for fleet operators.

Founded in 1974 and listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia since 2007, Tasco Berhad is a subsidiary of Japan’s Yusen Logistics Co. Ltd. Headquartered in Shah Alam, Selangor, the company operates around  25 logistics centres nationwide and employs around 2,200 people in Malaysia. Its services span air, ocean, and land transport, warehousing, supply chain management, and cold-chain logistics, serving a diverse range of industries.

With the addition of the latest Euro 5 units, Tasco continues to position itself as a leader in sustainable logistics—backed by HSTD’s commitment to supplying advanced vehicle technologies and comprehensive aftersales support for Malaysia’s evolving transport needs.
