Rapid Bus expands its Rapid KL On-Demand service to 12 new strategic zones in Shah Alam and Klang that need more accessible mobility support.
Each New Zone Is Served by 2 Vans, Except KTM Klang – Teluk Gadong
Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd (Rapid Bus) has expanded its Rapid KL On-Demand service involving 12 zones across Shah Alam and Klang on July 18, 2025.
The newly added zones for the Rapid KL On-Demand service include Persiaran Dato Menteri – KTM Shah Alam, KTM Padang Jawa – Terminal 17, KTM Padang Jawa – Seksyen 7, U12 Cahaya Alam, Bandar Baru Klang, KTM Klang – Batu Belah, Taman Summit, KTM Klang – Teluk Gadong, Sri Andalas, Klang Jaya, Bandar Bukit Tinggi, and Bandar Puteri. Each zone will be served by two vans, except KTM Klang – Teluk Gadong, which is served by three vans.
Rapid Bus has identified the new coverage zones as “strategic zones” that require “more efficient and accessible mobility support”.
“This phase is not just about expanding service coverage—it affirms our commitment to providing equitable access to public transportation. We want to ensure every city resident receives mobility solutions that are appropriate, efficient, and affordable, especially in areas previously underserved by the existing bus network,” said Amir Hamdan, Acting President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Prasarana.
Rapid Bus also announced that the Desa Pinggiran Putra – Dataran Gemilang Putrajaya zone has been merged with the MRT Putrajaya Sentral – PICC zone. The new zone is now called MRT Putrajaya Sentral – PICC & Desa Pinggiran Putra.
Rapid KL On-Demand operates daily from 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM and guarantees a seat for each booking. Passengers can book the trip using the Rapid On-Demand app and pay with Touch ‘n Go Card, debit or credit card, MyRapid Concession Card, OKU Smile Travel Pass, or Unlimited Travel Passes (My50, MyCity, MyTourist, Family Pass). Promotional fares as low as RM1.00 per trip still apply.
