Seven transport companies across Malaysia received brand new Scania buses this month, including one company in Kedah that became the first Scania owner in the state. This series of handovers strengthened the Swedish comapny’s position as a trusted partner for commercial operators in Malaysia.

On June 5, 2025, Scania announced four handovers, each to Silmatra Jaya Sdn Bhd, Majlis Bandaraya Seberang Perai (MBSP), Eagle Bay Travel & Tour Sdn Bhd, and Inter Top Tours Sdn Bhd.
Silmatra Jaya—a longtime partner of Scania Malaysia since 2019—added two units of the latest Scania New Bus Generation, which reduce fuel consumption and emissions by up to 9 per cent, thanks to a more efficient Euro 5 engine, enhanced gearbox range, and Cruise Control with Active Prediction, to its fleet. Currently, the transport company operates a total of 20 Scania buses and coaches.

Meanwhile, Majlis Bandaraya Seberang Pirai (MBSP) and Eagle Bay Travel & Tour Sdn Bhd recieved their first Scania buses. These buses are equipped with modern safety features, including Electronic Braking System (EBS) with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control (TC), and Lane Departure Warning (LDW).

The company with most purchase of Scania buses in this period was tour operator, Inter Top Tours Sdn Bhd. The company not only bought one, but four Scania New Bus Generation units altogether. Director Zulkifli Abdullah praised the synergy between driver comfort, fuel efficiency, and predictive cruise control, all of which are expected to elevate long-distance performance while minimizing operational costs.

On June 20, Scania announced another three handovers, each to Syarikat Sabariah Bersaudara Sdn Bhd, Tung Ma Express, and Sri Maju SPK. Syarikat Sabariah Bersaudara’s handover marked a pivotal moment for transport industry in Kedah as the company became the first of its kind to own Scania buses.

Syarikat Sabariah Bersaudara received two Scania K450CB6X2NI Euro V double-deck coaches equipped with Advanced Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Blind Spot Warning (BSW)—all part of Scania’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite to improve road safety.

Tung Ma Express, on the other hand, expanded its intercity coach fleet with two new Scania New Bus Generation. The Scania New Bus Generation can reduce fuel consumption and emissions by up to 9 per cent without compromising on performance. The new Euro V engine can save up to 7 per cent depending on engine size, vehicle configuration, and usage. Scania’s enhanced gearbox range and Scania Cruise Control with Active Prediction contribute to further savings.

Lastly, Sri Maju SPK Enterprise received its first Scania truck, supported by a Repair and Maintenance Contract and enrollment in the Ecolution program. “Selecting the right transportation partner is vital to our company’s continued success. Scania stands out for its exceptional reliability and outstanding service. That’s why we are committed to further enhancing our profitability and sustainability by expanding our investment in Scania,” stated Vijeyakumar, Director of Sri Maju SPK Enterprise.

The aforementioned handovers highlight a new chapter in Malayisa’s public transport and tour industries; a chapter that focuses on fuel efficiency, low emissions. and sustainability.
