Sri Maju Cergas Logistics Sdn Bhd (SMCL) continues to strengthen its logistics capabilities with the acquisition of 12 units of the Scania Super XT G460A6X4HZ, while also confirming an order for an additional 10 units.

SMCL Grows Scania Partnership with New Super XT Truck Fleet

This move reinforces the company’s growing partnership with Scania, which first began in 2023.

The official handover and signing ceremony took place at Scania Malaysia’s facility in Bukit Jelutong. Keys to the new trucks were handed over by Joyce Antar, Managing Director of Scania Southeast Asia, to Khoo Sze Chyuan, Managing Director of SMCL. The event was witnessed by Dato’ Sri Marcus Tan, Co-founder of SMCL.

Khoo highlighted the significance of the new trucks:“The Scania Super XT G460A6X4HZ sets a new benchmark with its impressive 2,500Nm torque at just 900rpm, offering up to 8 per cent fuel savings. This milestone will help us scale up our tipper and cargo operations efficiently. With the support of Scania Financial Services, we are confident in focusing on what matters most—growing our business.”

Built to tackle tough conditions, the Scania Super XT range delivers high uptime and operational reliability. Features such as a reinforced steel bumper to provide protection for the front-end components of vehicle, reducing unwanted downtime, and costly cab and chassis repairs while improving mobility with its larger attack angle. It also features high chassis height for better ground clearance, a readily-accessible tow pin at the front capable of towing up to 40 tonnes – the strongest in the market. Additional enhancements include rugged, scratch-resistant side mirrors and a high air intake system designed for dusty terrains.

The G460A6X4HZ also brings digital transformation to SMCL’s operations. With access to Scania’s suite of Digital Services, SMCL can monitor fleet performance, CO₂ emissions, service schedules, and driver behaviour in real-time through the My Scania portal and Fleet app. These tools enable smarter planning and decision-making for more efficient operations.

Drivers also benefit from digital support via the Scania Driver app, which enables them to perform pre-departure checks, monitor driving performance, access service appointments, and locate the nearest Scania workshop. Additionally, SMCL drivers receive a complimentary subscription to Scania ProDriver, a digital coaching tool that helps cultivate fuel-efficient driving habits.

“With all the data at SMCL’s fingertips, they can further optimise vehicle usage and enhance operational efficiency and reliability through Driver Training and Coaching — Scania’s tailored driving masterclass — enabling their drivers to be safer and more efficient on the road,” stated Joyce.

SMCL’s fleet of Scania trucks are supported by an entire ecosystem designed to keep their operations running. With 14 workshops across Malaysia and Singapore, 24/7 Scania Assistance, 22 roadside assistance vans, and 158 trained and certified workshop crews, ensuring help is always within reach.
