Hino 1st TS Contest
In 2014, the 1st TS Contest was intro- duced to replace the CS Contest. The inception of new Hino Total Support con- cept was to ensure that the aim of the 1st TS Contest was safeguarded. This yearly event was not only to compete but also to foster goodwill, rapport and communication in developing the contestants’ skills and knowledge. Hino Motors Sales Malaysia, Sdn Bhd (HMSM) had again invited its na- tionwide dealer networks to participate in the debut of new concept TS Contest.
“Hino Total Support emphasises on ‘car- ing for our customer’s business’, aiming to contribute to their business require- ments and success throughout the life- time of our product. We have built and will strengthen trust with our customers through all touch-points of sales and ser- vice by offering finely-tuned support and services that meet the requirement of every customer. Hino’s mission is to fulfil needs in transport of people and goods to contribute in enabling a prosperous society,” said N. Tanaka, the Managing Director of HMSM.
To be eligible for the 1st TS Contest, can- didates from various categories - Sales Specialist and Sales Advisor, Senior Tech- nician (Mechanic) and Service Advisor, and Part Senior and Part Advisor - were screened and tested through vigorous processes in theory, practical and role.

All contestants were well represented across the nation (West and East Ma- laysia) with 149 participants. The contes- tants had to undergo the following;
Sales: Candidates were tested on their understanding of various product line- ups (LCV, MCV, HCV and Buses), parts and aftersale activities, and were gauged on product advantages, government regulations, vehicle specification, FSP (Free Service Programme), Pre-delivery inspection and Total Life Time Cost. They were also assessed on their skill and role in a proper sales process flow and tech- niques, including detailed explanation of
Hino Life Time Cost Value and correct model specification.
Service: As the Service Advisor served as a key representative and significant contributor to overall customer satisfac- tion on service and repair jobs, candi- dates were tested on theoretical knowl- edge in Service and Repair procedures, FSP, Hino product of Non Slip Differen- tial (NSD), Hino Genuine Parts and TOP Parts, and assessed through role play to ensure they were capable in providing technical solutions.
