The results show that these teams are proficient in the following ar- eas - increasing technical competency, ability to look at the big picture when analysing problems, learning to delegate responsibility, enhance and cultivate teamwork and foresight in solving prob- lems and overcoming challenges systematically and efficiently.”
Added Gary: “Through the Scania Top Team Competition, we aim to develop services person- nel’s skills by way of combining studies, training and teamwork with challenges presented by the competition. We hope that the results will bring immense benefits to the participants and subse- quently to Scania customers by providing more effective services. In return, this may help meet the worldwide demand for qualified service work- shop staff, especially in Malaysia.”
Scania’s customer’s objective is to achieve the best profitability, which is why the compe- tition is based on Scania’s total solutions ap- proach to offering fuel economy, uptime and premium services. The competition rests firm- ly on the combination of studies with pleasure while having elements of the contest rooted in reality.
The top team, Team Harimau Malaya compris- ing Amir Hamzah, Adde Ham Abdul Rahman, Mohd Ghazali Mapaita, Mohd Zainy Mohd Fadil and Mohammad Hairol Zaki Missuan from Sca- nia Malaysia Bukit Jelutong, walked away with a team trophy, official certificates of participation, official Scania watch and the grand title of being the representative from Malaysia at the regional finals in Guangzhou, China in 2015. The team managed to solve the series of challenges and problems issued in the fields of five chosen com- ponents – Theory, Brake, Electrical, Suspension and Fuel.
Prior to the finals, participating teams from all services personnel across Malaysia had to go through a written test to qualify as finalists. As a result, a total number of five teams were chosen to compete in the recent finals: Auto City from Butterworth branch, Borneo Hornbill from Bin- tulu branch, Harimau Malaya from Bukit Jelutong branch, Innovative from Bukit Jelutong branch and Pendekar Penyu from Ipoh branch. Each team consists of 3 Service Personnel, 1 Parts Personnel and 1 Service Advisor.
Five stations representing the components were set up and all teams were not told of the compo- nents that they were to be tested on. At every sta- tion, each team was given 20 minutes for prob- lem solving and to explain to a panel of judges from Scania and 20 minutes for team members to re-group and discuss among themselves while the judges deliberated.

斯堪尼亚客户的目的是达到最好的利润,这也是为什么竞赛的方式建基于 斯堪尼亚整体解决方案,包含提供燃油效益、正常运作时间及高品质的服 务。 该竞赛强调研究与乐趣相结合,并将竞赛的元素根植于现实。
顶尖团队马来亚老虎队的成员包括阿敏尔(Amir Hamzah)、阿迪(Adde Ham Abdul Rahman)、莫伽匝利(Mohd Ghazali Mapaita)、莫再尼 (Mohd Zainy Mohd Fadil)及莫哈默海洛(Mohammad Hairol Zaki Missuan) 。来自斯堪尼亚马来西亚武吉日落洞总部的他们,成功赢走 了团队奖杯、参赛证明书及斯堪尼亚手表,并将代表马来西亚参加2015 年斯堪尼亚广州顶尖服务团队亚太区争霸赛。该团队成功解决5大挑战环 节—理论、制动器、电气、悬挂及燃油。
在决赛前,全马所有参与该竞赛的服务团队都必须通过书写测试,才能取 得进入决赛的资格。共有5队成功入选参与马来西亚站的决赛,他们分别 是北海分行的Auto City、民都鲁分行的Borneo Hornbill、日落洞分行的 马来亚老虎队及怡保分行的Pendekar Penyu的服务团队。每一个团队有3 名服务人员、1名零部件人员及1 名服务顾问。
参赛者必须面对5大环节的挑战,但是他们都不会被预先告知是哪些环 节。在每一环节,每一个团队有20分钟解决问题和向评委解释问题,并在 评审进行商讨时,有20分钟重新分组和讨论问题的时间。
