Scania & IKBN to Spearhead Innovation in Automotive Engineering Technology Sector
Scania (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd officially hand- ed over equipment to Institute Kemahi- ran Belia Negara (IKBN) Kuala Perlis as part of a technological collaboration between the two parties.
The equipment consists of a DC 11 L01 (340hp) truck engine with stand, GRS 900 truck gearbox with stand, R 780 truck axle with stand and Univer- sal stand with floor panel that is a fixture stand unit for mounting general components during rebuild- ing and repair.
The wider aspect of the collaboration also includes development of skills and syllabus, industrial train- ing, apprentice programme and employment for graduate students later in Scania.
“This collaboration between Scania and IKBN Kua- la Perlis is designed to provide wider opportunities to increase the skills, knowledge and profession- alism of students in technical, management and technology fields in order to fulfil the needs of the industry,” said Ulrika Hellberg, Finance Director, Scania Southeast Asia.
“This is in line with the Sweden Malaysia Innova- tion Initiative, an effort to nurture open and collab- orative innovation that provides opportunities for public, private and research institutes to cooperate on multiple levels.”
Also, as part of the Memorandum of Understand- ing signed in October 2013 – 8 to 10 selected Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) and Sijil Pelajaran Ma- laysia (SPM) graduates would be selected to do their industrial training as apprentices in Scania.
If they were successful during their apprentice- ship in Scania, some of these students would be offered a job.
Scania would also work with IKBN to develop further education programmes through the Sistem Latihan Dual Nasional (SLDN) by Ja- batan Pembangunan Kemahiran, Kementerian Sumber Manusia.
Also present at the event were Idros Puteh, Coun- try Manager Scania (M) Sdn Bhd; David Lantz, Project Manager of Business Sweden; and Major (R) Zailani Safari, Director of Technology Deposi- tory Agency (TDA), Ministry of Finance Malaysia.

“此举与瑞典马来西亚的创新倡议一致,也是培养开放和创新 协作的努力,为公共领域、私人界及研究机构提供多层面的合 作机会。”
此外,作为2013年10月谅解备忘录签约的一部分,8至10名马来西 亚技术证书和马来西亚教育文凭(SPM )毕业生被挑选在斯堪尼亚 当学徒,进行他们的工业培训。
如果成功地通过斯堪尼亚的学徒培训,该公司会为这些学生中的部 分学生提供就业机会。
斯堪尼亚也将与国家青年技术学院合作,通过人力资源部的技能发 展部的大马国家双向培训计划,更进一步发展教育课程。
出席该活动的有斯堪尼亚(马)私人有限公司总经理依如斯(Idros Puteh )、瑞典业务项目经理兰德兹(David Lantz)及马来西亚财 政部技术保管机构总监再纳利(Zailani Safari)退休少校。
堪尼亚(马)私人有限公司正式将设备交付给瓜拉玻璃 市国家青年技术学院(IKBN),作为两方的技术合作。
