Having a wide range of bus chassis and complete buses, with floor assemblies in every possible length, he stressed that MAN was able to provide the right vehicle concept in capacity and drive.
“The well-used phrase ‘salesman sells the first truck and service sells the rest’ remains as good as today. We will make sure that there is either a MAN service point or a qualified local partner agency near our customers to provide safe and easy maintenance access. Also available is our roadside breakdown assistance.”
The protection of the passengers and driver as well as other road users was crucial and Kuchta said safety was a top priority for the company. “A good example is our Lion’s Intercity. It already meets the ECE R66.02 standard prescribed for 2017, which regulates the strength of the assembly on buses and the requirement of the roll-over test. This means in the case of a roll-over, the struc- ture must be able to absorb significantly more energy so that the survival space for the occupants remains maintained. Therefore, passengers are well protected in case of an emergency.”
New Generation of Advanced Safety Features
Furthermore, he said MAN was currently introducing its new gen- eration of Emergancy Brake Assit (EBA) and the emergency stop signal (ESS).
“MAN’s new generation of the EBA combines information from the radar sensor in the front end and from the windscreen-mounted camera. This sensor fusion allows the system to make trustwor- thy interpretations of situations on the road. Vehicles in front and stationary obstructions can be identified faster and with greater certitude. The system thus gains time to initiate emergency brak-

此外,他说,曼目前推出了采用传感 器融合系统的新一代紧急制动辅助 (EBA)和紧急停车信号(ESS)。
“曼的新一代EBA紧急制动系,结 合了前端雷达传感器和安装于挡风 玻璃的摄像头中接收到的信息,这 种传感器的融合,能够让系统对路 况进行可靠的解读,可以更快、更 精准地识别出前方机动车以及障碍 物。因此,当遇到紧急情况时,系 统能够及时地开启紧急制动,以赢 得更多时间,使车辆可以尽快减 速,快速有效地在数米内制动。” 他解释说。
