hicle repairs including damaged cab and chassis replace- ment, panel beating, welding and spray painting. It also as- sists customers in making insurance claims.
“We had been concentrating on passenger car collision re- pairs since we were established. It was about a year ago that we decided to expand and cover commercial collision repairs as we saw the increasing demand in this area. There are no space constraints in our wide and spacious workshop, and we can accommodate many trucks at one time. Long and heavy duty commercial vehicles can be easily accessed and manoeuvred. To provide a good and quality service, we have invested significantly on technologically advance collision re- pair equipment such as Josam truck frame repair system for strengthening the commercial vehicles.”
Yon said he came to know about Josam products from a friend. “As it was a big investment, it was important to make sure that we bought something reliable. Josam is the leading manufacturer of wheel alignment, straightening and induc- tion equipment for heavy vehicles, and its sole distributor in Malaysia, Manbeni Machine Tools, is known for its good after-sales service. These were the reasons that I decided to invest in Josam’s products.”
Yon finds Josam truck frame repair equipment very user friendly and that it helps him to speed up the strengthen- ing process. It is durable, safe, and provides more accurate straightening results with less strip-down time. In short, Yon said, it was a reliable system that provided accurate and con- venient operation, and helped him save time and money in the repair jobs.
Currently, the repair work of commercial vehicles is carried out temporarily in the company’s passenger car workshop as the adjoining commercial vehicle section is under construc- tion. Yon estimated that it would be ready in 6 months’ time. The new site would include a 3-acre store that is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
“At the moment, we have to outsource our commercial ve- hicle spray painting job as we do not have a spray booth because of the space constraint. Once we have completed the construction of our new commercial vehicle workshop, we would be able to have a more spacious facility that allows us to be better equipped to provide a complete service for our customers.”
The volume of repairs for the company is more than 200 cars and 30 commercial vehicles per month. To provide prompt and efficient service, Yon Huat Motor Works has its own tow truck fleet that operates 24/7. With 60 tow trucks, including 5 heavy duty tow trucks, the company is able to provide towing service for accident vehicles in all the states of Peninsular Malaysia.
“We have more than 100 workers. Apart from the administra- tive staff, our workshop is staffed by 15 and 30 highly trained technicians who are true expects in car and commercial re- pairs respectively.”
Also in the pipeline is the expansion into bus and coach re- pairs. “We have plans to expand to bus and coach repairs, but we would only do that when we have strengthened our commercial vehicle repair business,” Yon said.

“我们有100名员工。除了行政人员，我们有15名训练有 素的专业轿车修复技师和30名专业商用车技师。”
该公司也计划扩展进入巴士和游览车服务。“我们计划 扩展至巴士和游览车修复，不过我们会在巩固了商用车 修复业务后，才会这样做。”
