Acten New Tread Liner Plant Starts Operation
Seremban-based Acten Group has started operating a new tread liner manufacturing plant adjacent to its existing office building.
Sitting on a 1.5-acre site, the new plant boasts of advanced equip- ment that was developed by Acten Engineering and its collabora- tion partners in Taiwan and China. It has the capacity to produce up to 150 tonnes per month.
“We started planning for this new plant, which operated under the name Acten Rubber Technology Sdn Bhd, in July 2013. The first stage of construction kicked off in August and the plant was ready by February this year. We then moved the machinery and equipment to the factory, began the commissioning and achieved stable produc- tion in April,” said Susan Wong, Managing Director of Acten Group.
Acten Group began operations as Acten Engineering, which was established in 1999 and specialised in machinery design, manu- facturing, modification, installation and consultation for the rubber industry. It was also well known for the transfer of technical know- how in formulation design, mixing techniques, on-site training and quality control.
“We have a strong foundation in engineering. Over the years, we have grown rapidly and today we are a group that comprises 4 companies – Acten Engineering, Acten Marketing, Acten Tyre Technology and the newly set-up Acten Rubber Technology.”
According to Susan, the new plant realised the Group’s aim of be- ing a one-stop provider for the industry, from machinery, new tyre sales, tread liners to retreading. “The establishment of the model tread liner compounding factory is aimed at strengthening and ex- panding Acten’s value chain activities to help create greater cus- tomer value. It is Acten’s model plant and training centre for

“我们于2013年7月开始计划设立这个名为高昇橡 胶科技有限公司的新厂。第一阶段的兴建工程在 8月开始，并在今年2月时完工。然后，我们将机 械和设备搬入工厂进行调试，在4月达到稳定生 产。”高昇集团董事经理王虹玲表示。
高昇集团是以高昇橡塑机械开始起家，这家于1999 年成立的公司，专攻橡塑工业机械设计、制造、修 改、安装及咨询 。 它以程式设计技术转移、混炼技 巧、现场培训及品质控制见称。
“我们在机械方面拥有一个强大的基础。这些年 来，我们成长迅速，今天我们已经是一个由4家公 司---高昇橡塑机械、高昇贸易、高昇轮胎科技及 高昇橡胶科技组成的集团。”
据王虹玲说，新厂实现了该集团成为该行业一站式 供应商的目标，从机械、新轮胎销售、胎面胶到轮 胎翻新。“成立模范胎面胶制造厂是为了巩固和扩 展高升的价值链活动，协助客户制造更大的价值。
