HCS is an all axle fitment tyre, especially made for rough and severe applications. The company claims that its steel casing with reinforced bead, sidewalls and belt package make it very durable in off-road applications where rocky, muddy and unpaved surfaces prevail and sudden dynamic load changes are common.
The HCS pattern guarantees minimal stone drilling or block tearing. Its pattern combines excellent traction and self-clean- ing capabilities, especially on sandy or muddy undergrounds. The tyres had to withstand the highest temperatures - up to 60 degrees Celsius in the deserts and on the black tarred roads of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Oman. They also had to face the roughest and coldest condi- tions on their journey through Ladakh, North India and Tibet, which demanded maximum performance from tyres, equip- ment and drivers.
“I would have never expected that the tyres could stand up to all these applications and would provide this amount of mileage. Our spare wheel has been kept unchanged. The traction is excellent and even on paved road or asphalt it keeps directional stability and runs amazingly quiet,” Stefan Sigi commented on the tyres during the press conference.
HerMAN will get a new set of tyres in Malaysia, and will con- tinue its journey via Indonesia to Australia and New Zealand.
