With fleets keeping an ever closer eye on operating costs, minimising downtime for servicing and repairs is a crucial factor in optimising resources. It is no surprise, then that “preventive maintenance” is the watchword of the country’s most forward looking servicing companies.
This is certainly the case at Q-Team Sdn Bhd, which positions itself as a one-stop service provider, with the aim of providing quality, reli- able, efficient and hassle-free maintenance for commercial vehicles. We were shown round the company’s impressive workshop facility in Klang by Operations Director James Chong and Finance/HR Di- rector Elaine Boon.
Q-Team’s ultimate goal is to provide all repairs and maintenance services under one roof. The company provides servicing facilities, wheel, axle and frame alignment, spray-oven painting and accident repairs as well as selling quality and refurbished used heavy vehicle for customers.
The company was appointed by Piam as a member in October 2011 to repair accident vehicles. The company is also an insurance agent for AmG Insurance Berhad and Pacific Insurance Berhad as well as being the only heavy vehicle workshop in Malaysia to have its own

Q-Team is strategically located in Port Klang where it is a hub for most of the logistic companies. The company also provides national coverage for breakdown services support- ed by its workshops in Seberang Prai in the Northern region and Pasir Gudang in the Southern region. It provides 7-days a week, 14-hours a day servicing and 24-hour breakdown assistance.
The company was also been awarded as 3S and 2S dealer for Mercedes-Benz and Mitsubishi commercial vehicles in February 2011.
Q-Team has been appointed by prominent logistic service provider, Swift Group to maintain its fleet of more than 100 units of prime movers and 1,000 trailers and auxiliary ve- hicles. Other key clients include MISC, Kontena Nasional and Landbridge, to name but a few. In addition to Mercedes, Q-Team works together closely with other leading heavy ve- hicles manufacturers in Malaysia.
“Our main aim is to reduce downtime for our clients”, says James Chong. “ Our workshop Management System- “ERP System” provides real time information, so that our customers can capture the repair and maintenance costs of their vehicles on a daily basis. Customers will be able to view and monitor the costs of repair and maintenance as per budget. Q-Team’s high-calibre professionals, well-versed in the varied field, are always in line with the company’s mission to exceed our cus- tomer’s expectation and deliver peak performance.”
