Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors Sdn Bhd (HSDM), the sole distributor for In- okom trucks, a re-badge from Hyun- dai Commercial Vehicles, is focusing on pro- viding the trucking industry with the maximum benefit for every sum of money spent in line with the company’s tagline “Value for Busi- ness”. The current selling price of its Inokom AD3 model is more than RM 10,000 lower than other premium brands in the market. This makes every single cent count as buy- ers get similar or even better features as sim- ilar ranges of light trucks available elsewhere in the market. In addition, and underlining HSDM’s confidence in the quality of Inokom AD3, the buyer is covered with the longest warranty period in Malaysia, which is 2 years or 100,000km, whichever comes first.
Stylish but tough, comfortable and reliable, convenient and practical, the Inokom AD3 is suitable for a wide range of usages, built to op- erate reliably and economically with minimum downtime and carry large payloads. It enhanc- es trucking business turnover, reduces opera- tional costs and increases profit potential.
Powered by a D4DC 4-inline 3.9-litre engine and conforming to the Euro 1 emission stan- dard, the Inokom AD3 has a maximum output of 118hp@3,200 rpm and a maximum torque of 294Nm@ 1,800 rpm. For fuel efficiency, it has a synchronized 2nd-5th gear transmission. The Euro II version will be added to the current product line sometime in April this year.

In addition, the long wheelbase and increased body space of AD3 allow it to load more due to its longer body. The AD3 is available in 4 versions – 3570mm (15 ft 9 inches) Standard, 3750mm (16 1⁄2 ft) Extended, 3925mm (17 1⁄2 ft) Extended and 4500mm (20ft) Extended.
According to Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors, AD3 sales have been encouraging and continue to grow at a fast rate. Users are claimed to be submitting repeat or- ders and one fleet custom- er has bought 16 AD3s in 3 separate orders. The com- pany achieved 1,600 units for both AD3 and AU26 models last year, and is ex- pecting a 25% increase in sales this year.
With 39 sales dealers and over 35 service centres across the country, the com- pany has sufficient spare parts availability with half a million ringgit worth of spare parts stored in its own 3S centre at No 24, Jalan Jaya Setia 26/3, Seksyen 26, Shah Alam, Selangor as well as reliable breakdown res- cue services.
